Lake Mburo/Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks
DAY 1: TRAVEL TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, leave kampala for Lake Mburo National Park passing through the farmlands in the country and making a stop at the equator in Masaba for photography, experiments and lunch. After that head off to the park with an enroute game drive viewing a few animals like zebras and antelopes and later on spend the night in your accommodation amidst nature.
DAY 2: ACTIVITIES IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
Wake up at 6:30am for early breakfast, go have a 3-4 hour game drive viewing giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, Bush bucks, leopards, reedbuck, eland, impala, topi, oribi and birds like shoebills and kingfisher
In the afternoon after lunch, Head to the lake for a two hour boat cruise where you will find hippos, crocodiles hippos and birds like shoebill. Take pictures and later return to your hotel where you will have dinner, a relaxed evening and spend the night
DAY 3: MORNING GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI
Wake up at 6:30am for early breakfast, go have a 3-4 hour game drive viewing giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, Bush bucks, leopards, reedbuck, eland, impala, topi, oribi and birds like shoebills and kingfisher
In the afternoon after lunch, set off for Lake bunyonyi which is found in the kigezi highlands commonly known as the Switzerland of uganda with many islands and revolving hills, beautiful climate and scenery where you will spend the night.
DAY 4: GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING AND LAKE MUTANDA
After morning breakfast, at 6:00am, Leave kabaale for kisoro and head straight to ntebeko (Mgahinga offices) where you will be briefed and after go golden monkey trekking for 3-4hours. This venture is one unique one as you will get to walk through the three different vegetation zones in the forest to reach the bamboo zone which is home to the golden monkeys. In this journey, you will encounter many bird and butterfly species as well as elephants and buffaloes if lucky enough.
When done with that, Head off for a lunch at kisoro town and later Head off to lake mutanda canoeing on the lake enjoying spectacular views as you take pictures as well. Dinner will be had at the lake resort where you will spend the night.
DAY 5: RETURN TO KAMPALA WITH A STOP AT THE EQUATOR FOR EXPERIMENTS
Return to kampala after breakfast with a stop over at the equator again if you may want to passing through the beautiful kigezi highlands and stopping at various points for photography and scenic viewing. You will still get to encounter African homesteads and farms and stop at either mbarara or masaka for lunch at choice.
